Unfortunately, Fern lacks sufficient mana itself, and the necessary strength to use it. She can gain both, but it will take years. We watch those yearsfour of them, to be exactunfold in a sequence of beautiful little slice-of-life scenes. After four years, Heiter has a fall, and is no longer able to walk. Fern has improved, but still cant hit the rock across the gorge. She wants him to be glad he saved her, and to know shell be alright without him....

Now that Im accustomed to Frierens tendencies, I appreciate them all the more when certain things occur. The cutaways, for instance. A show likeFamily Guywill run them into the ground, butFrierenemploys them judiciously. So Fern does what she believes she must: she delays her own shopping to shadow Frieren. The Prison Domain closes around Gojou and shrinks to slightly larger than a Rubiks Cube. Unless Gojou kills himself (fat chance) the Domain is unusable as it only holds one. Mei Mei is initially skeptical, but Koukichi manages to convince her. Meanwhile, the three standby teams start to head into the first veil. Team Nanami meets up with Yuuji, and Nanami leaves Yuuji and Magumi in Ino Takumas care. One would hope Japan wouldnt have to rely onone goddamn personto maintain its existence, but here we are....

Well…Kazuya doesnt light Chizurus sparkler. And cry she does. When we finally get some time inherhead, shes talking to her grandparents at her shrine to them.

Thats when Tsugaru trusses her up like a turkey....

We also get the full OP in all its glory, complete with more singing and dancing. The bad news is, they have to go the long way round. The old man, named Kumano Masaru, is grateful for their help. He also learns Masaru had to kill his wife and son when they became zombies. Kencho, Shizuka and Beatrix end up chipping in, and they get the house done in one afternoon....

I love how Koga Aoi changed up Noirs voice to make it more naturalandmore hostile. Back at a grateful Rock Town, the victorious Drifters kick back. She also informs Kanata that shes been trying to get Noir back but she isnt responding. Also Tokio apparently knows Macht, and wonders what hes up to in Rock Town. This is, again, and as ever, perfectly serviceable and nominally entertaining without being particularly groundbreaking....

Quite right, so he should! That said, Fitz could also be an airhead, and had just the cutest, prettiest shy smile. Rudycouldsee Sylphiette shining through the anachronistic shades. He didnt fall in love with Fitz, but the fine person Sylphie had become. He wastes no time replying to her confession with one of his own: he loves her too. Unfortunately, while his tent briefly pitches, it just as quickly falls again....

The lesser undercards down in Seireitei are all but finished. Turns out Yhwach is the Soul Kings erstwhileson, and basically tells Ichibei to shove his pact. This is looking too easy for the Quincy…and it is. All of their gains were an illusion weaved by Shutara. Askin manages to just barely survive the one stroke, but he doesnt survive a second. Fortunately, Ichibei doesnt seem any less capable of repelling Yhwach as he was back then....

He marvels at all of the little coincidences that had to occur for them to find each other. He even getshishair cut shorter than its ever been to normalize their hair lengths. Kyoukos shorter hair also makes her look more mature, like Izumis future wife. Yet again, Ill miss these lovable dorks.
