Slayer continues to train novices and go out for drinks, and Cow Girl seems a little lonely. She also seems worried, as she drops her mask after he leaves.

With that crumpled paper, Yuri puts out of his mind any comparison to himself and his prey. Instead, Yuri waits outside until Perkins comes out, so his father wont see how pathetic he is. Perkins response cuts deep: who is more pathetic, someone fighting the government, or a government dog? Thats it for the episode proper, which only takes up about two-thirds of the standard runtime. Its a random but hilarious little mini-ep, and I dug the retro resolution and palette....

After all, hes not Getou, or Mahito, or Jougo, or even Hanami. But he does have an axe to grind with Yuuji personally. His Mechamaru talisman speaks up again, telling him to go to the bathroom. Claire meanwhilereallywants to beat Rae at chess, but finds doing so difficult. Yu, trying to get a better bead on Rae, proposes a game of poker. Raes first hand is a good one, and her first card swap gives her a straight. While out in the courtyard Rae leads Claire and Lene to where Second Prince Thane is playing the harp. Rae does a masterful bit of bullshitting (orisit?) by revealing to Thane that she was actually counting on him to expose her true intentions....

And Rei couldnt be happier. Rei, now Rae Taylor, has somehow been transported into the world of the game. Shes supposed to be an effective bully, but none of her bullying works on Rae. It only makes Rae love her more. Honestly I was surprised how up my alley this show turned out to be. Rae even gets Claire to neg the sensitive second priest she actually likes, a tremendous self-own!...
